About the Artist
Luke Dowler is a singer, songwriter, producer, and podcaster.
Raised the son of a Midwest Marine, he spent his formative years traveling the globe and carrying a guitar. For over a decade Dowler has toured the US, Canada and internationally, playing for anyone who would listen. Based in the Northwest Rocky Mountains of Montana, he continues to tour and release music as well as host a weekly podcast, Dowlercast.
Touring both solo and with a band, Dowler’s versatility and scrappy reinvention has fueled a many-faceted music career. From his live looping and story telling as a solo artist to his work with The Savage Gentlemen reflecting his punk rock and blues roots, Dowler has made it difficult to categorize his style.
Signing on with Dream/EMI Records in 2012, Dowler released his first solo record, Polarized, a rock and roll album that was likened to artist’s like Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, and even Bob Marley. Mutually parting ways with his label due to creative differences, Dowler began a song a week release that turned into the Compass Project; a collection of 4 EPS that he would write, produce, record, and mix himself.
Named by Paste Magazine as an artist to listen to now. Dowler’s music has been featured on HGTV, Without A Trace, Heartland and many others.
In 2015 and 2016, He began scoring for film and producing records at his home studio Wintercrest Studios. The studio began as a couple rooms in the basement and is currently being relocated to a 1400 sq ft facility located on Dowler’s farm in Montana.
In 2017 Dowlercast was launched, a podcast where Luke interviews various guests and talks about his life on the road, farm and in the studio. Weekly episodes are released and can be found on iTunes.
